CONCLUSION:-
To conclude it is stated the future of democracy in Pakistan is unfortunately very gloomy. Since Pakistan is considered as a multi lingual and multi national country, the possibility of political homogeneity is very less. Hence the democratic form of government is posing a major threat for our national interest. Pakistan is a federal form of government where important and prestigious powers are vested upon the center. Thus federal form of government signifies strong central government. Democracy, in contrast, stands as a lose form of central government and it enables the provinces to practice more power. Secondly lack of political institutions and presence of multi party system in Pakistan do not let the democracy take root in Pakistan. Therefore the government is to take serious steps in order to cultivate a sustainable democracy in Pakistan. In the essay first of all the term ‘democracy’ was defined. Afterward types of democracy were elaborated. Then advantages and disadvantages of democracy were discussed. Afterward an overview of democracy in Pakistan was given with the context of military intervention in politics. The impediments of democracy were also studied critically. At last few suggestions were given pertaining to the government and people of Pakistan.
